In the summer of 2024, I got blessed with the opportunity to be a part of a collaborative mural project lead by Flips da Swirl God (@flipsbsc and Sowl (@sunfloweramen). A total of 16 of the city’s best artists came together and contributed to adding life & depth to an unsuspecting uHaul lot at the intersection of Queen and Parliament. With themes of peace and unity, we each created and exacted our visions. Adding a glorious street gallery and showcase to the neighborhood.
This is the first project of this type I have been a part of and it was a great learning experience in mural creation and using spray paint as a medium in a more serious context. Learning to work in large scale, how to manipulate light and shadow to create forms as well as wat it takes to be in the streets doing the art you love.
Big thanks to Flips & Sowl for creating this opportunity for the squad, and blessings all around for everyone who contributed, helped and supported the project along the way.
