In early winter 2025, I got blessed with a good run of art shows I was a part of. I did a full month, compromising of 4 showcases around downtown Toronto.
A dope cafe that has a focus on community building and the arts, called Youthful Vengeance, puts on a weekly exhibit in their cafe called “WEEKS OF VENGEANCE”. I got accepted to be a part of one of these weeks, and was on a whole exploratory journey in my paintings so had a fresh series of really awesome work I am proud of. The “Tales from the S1M” series, starring my recurring characters Nyx the purple hyena and V10L4 the T.V. headed lady. Along with whole cast of other characters as I sharpen my skills and explore new avenues of imagery.
I was grouped up with some other artists who all had their own really cool and unique styles; Maya Kaplan, Chimemelie Okafor & Brock McLaughlin.
I love ideating and stuff like that, so I checked out the other artists’ work and really wanted to name the show “DEARLY DETRITUS”. An homage to how a lot of our work is compromised of these hyper specific layers of imagery, almost like abstract & anomalous totem poles for our souls.
